Artown's Art Paws Gives Money to Reno's Only Feline Sanctuary

At Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada, we are honored to have been selected as one of the Winners of
PetFolio Magazine's 2012 People's Choice Award!

"The grant we received from PetFolio Magazine's ArtPaws Event last summer will be used in two ways.

Half of the funds will be used to provide medical care for our geriatric and disabled residents who live at our Feline Sanctuary.  The remaining funds will be used for our Cats in Crisis program.  This program helps people in transition who want to keep their cats as part of their family."

"FRONN provides boarding, medical care, grooming, vaccinations, food, litter and other needed services so these cats can stay out of area shelters and return to their families when they get back on their feet."

"We want to thank all of you who voted for us at ArtPaws and PetFolio Magazine for giving us the opportunity to help more cats in need."

As a cat rescue organization at an event mainly for dogs, we are thrilled to receive this grant and will immediately put it to work in our community."

Look for FRONN at THIS YEAR'S Art Paws, Sun., July 21st.

MOSTLY DOGS is talking about Art Paws!

Mostly Dogs

12th annual Art Paws event celebrating pets will be July 15 in Reno

 12TH ANNUAL ART PAWS
* Sun. July 15 – 10am-5pm
* McKinley Arts & Cultural Center, 925 Riverside Drive in Reno (near Keystone and First Street by the river)
* FREE ADMISSION!

More than 100 local vendors have come together to celebrate canine independence days at Art Paws, presented by PetFolio Magazine. Let them experience the wind behind their fur. Savor the joy of gourmet everything in the company of friends. Imprint their immortal soul on canvas. Gaze into a crystal ball with the aid of a psychic. Think, therefore be. Dog. And proud of it.

Art Paws is the only canine-friendly event at the Artown festival. The event features products and services designed to uplift the canine mind, body, and soul – and help animals in need. Voting at Art Paws will determine which three local animal-aid agencies will garner all the proceeds from the event.  In 2011, the US Wolf Refuge, Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada, and Boxers & Buddies received more than $6,000.  All proceeds from the event will benefit local non-profit pet organizations.   A special feature this year will be a free Tribute to Animals by the Nevada Opera, as well as wine and beer tastings and an evening concert by Rhythm Tailors Hillbilly Band.
